Vinicius Bustamante

Vini Bustamante (b.1986) is a Brazilian-born visual artist based in Dublin, whose multidisciplinary practice spans painting, illustration, murals, digital media and sculpture.

Born and raised in São Paulo, Vini developed his visual language in a city shaped by contrasts, street culture and a rich mix of cultural influences, with Japanese culture becoming a particularly important reference in his work. Since moving to Dublin in 2016, his practice has increasingly absorbed elements of his adopted home, bringing Brazilian, Japanese and Irish influences together through bold colour, humour and playful visual storytelling.

Characterised by bold forms, vivid colour and a strong graphic sensibility, his work often begins with familiar objects, characters and situations and transforms them into unexpected or surreal compositions. Beneath its playful surface, his practice can also engage with themes of identity, migration and contemporary social life. His work has appeared across Dublin’s public spaces, alongside independent illustration and personal projects.

Alongside his studio practice, Vini has worked internationally as an art director and designer for nearly two decades. This background continues to inform his approach to composition, narrative and image-making, while his personal work gives him the freedom to experiment across materials and disciplines.
