Srna Krstulovic
Srna is a Dublin-based artist from Supetar on the Island of Brach, Croatia. Growing up in Belgrade and being surrounded by artists she became fascinated with sculpture at a young age. She finished her masters at the Academy of Fine Arts in Split, Department of Sculpture in 2013.
Although she mostly works as a sculptor and painter, she finds inspiration and expresses herself in a variety of mediums such as drawing and stop animation. Her works were part of many exhibitions throughout Croatia and she worked on multiple theatre shows as scenography assistant and props maker in Split and Sibernik. She also has several public sculptures in Bol, Vrsar and Osjek.
Moving around many times throughout her life has impacted her personal growth, influencing her art as well. Living in Dublin since 2017, Srna has found inspiration in realism, surrealism, impressionism and working with various materials including wood, stone, clay, plaster, acrylic and oil paint.
Through her artwork, Srna plays with psychology and raw emotion, mental health and mockery of the world, provoking feelings of sadness, desire, life values, eagerness for material things, different perceptions of beauty, rage and existentialism.
