Lorna Mauney-Brodek
Lorna Mauney-Brodek is a herbalist, medicine maker, wildcrafter and teacher from Atlanta, Georgia. Lorna creates community focused ways for people to care for their health using herbs, helping to grow local support systems and make communities stronger. She is the founder of Herbalista and co-founder of the Dublin Herb Bike Collective. Herbalista is an Atlanta-based grassroots health justice initiative that provides free herbal care and education through mobile clinics, community workshops, and online resources. The Dublin Herb Bike offers community classes and runs a mobile clinic providing free, herbal care and comfort to communities in need around Dublin, including a monthly pop-up clinic outside the GPO.
Lorna is a member of the Irish Register of Herbalists, the professional body overseeing herbal practice in Ireland. Herbalista and the Dublin Herb Bike have been recognised by the National Institute of Medical Herbalists (UK) and the American Herbalists Guild for their contributions to community herbalism. Lorna believes that to preserve our access to herbs as medicine, we must use them, plant them, eat them, preserve them —and above all, share them.
