Jye O’Sullivan
Dr Jye O’Sullivan is an art historian and lecturer in Visual Cultures at the National College of Art and Design. Their research has previously focussed on the intersections between artistic practice and cybernetics, with a specific focus on the artistic uses of cybernetics within a Latin American context. Jye’s present research interests include, art and cybernetics, contemporary art from Latin America, posthumanism, queer ecology, ecological ethics and the philosophy of technology. Jye is the co-editor of the 2026, Bloomsbury publication: Visions of Scale.
They are also a sound artist and have exhibited a range of work focussed on the materialisation of sound and decolonisation of the senses through sound in Ireland, Brazil, USA, Cyprus and Spain. Jye also loves to make bad techno.
