Aarif Amod

After being diagnosed with Cancer in 2015, Aarif chose to jump into Photography from Music. He has dedicated a lot of time to documenting life in Dublin city. He is a very passionate Street Photographer and he chooses to focus his attention on important themes like the continuous culture change within the city and important topics that people tend the shy away from, including the homeless crisis and expansion within Dublin. Over the last 7 years of taking up Photography, his life has greatly changed. The medium itself has provided him with a much deeper insight into the world and offered him a different perspective on life and his surroundings. Photography has also played a vitally important role in his recovery and he has learnt that sometimes, creativity can be incredible medicine. Photography has become more than just an artistic creative process to him. Aarif now sees it as a duty to use his creativity for much more important projects that inspire and encourage change and give people a deeper understanding into the world we live in. Aarif studied Photography at Pearse College in 2016 and was awarded residency at Pearse in 2022.
