‘Holy Mountain’ is a recent series of paintings by artist Derick Smith
The colourful works were created intuitively and are often evocative, showing both human forms as well as bold and sweeping abstract expressions.
The exhibition title is drawn from the 1973 Jodorowsky film, The Holy Mountain, which features a dazzling palette and powerful subconscious imagery.

‘We are images, dreams, photographs. We must not stay here. Prisoners! We shall break the illusion. This is magic! Goodbye to the Holy Mountain. Real life awaits us.’
