Caitríona Giblin is a digital media consultant, body painter, and artist.
She has a BSc in Multimedia Programming from IADT, and a Level 8 Cert in Digital Marketing (distinction). After working in the digital industry for over 7 years, she started her own consultancy in 2014.
After starting out as an Avon lady while in college, she studied make up artistry with Make Up Forever, and started freelancing as a make up artist as a hobby. She began body painting after seeing an ad on Facebook looking for body painters at the annual World Naked Bike Ride in Cork in 2011.
When it came time to start Sparklicous Studio, she decided to merge her loves into the one business – combining marketing, programming, art, painting, make up and body painting.
In 2014 the Dublin Body Painting Jam was born. It is a meet up group for artists, models, and photographers. We start at 10am, paint one artist to one model for 6 hours, then at take photos for another hour.
The jams are now bi-monthly and are usually attended by 50-60 people. There is a non-judgemental atmosphere of creativity, openness, and positivity. There is no experience required to attend, only an open mind.
Her artwork is very expressive and emotive. She never uses pencils, favouring spray paint, UV paint, eyeliner – and never colours inside the lines.
